BRINC Drones
Responder, Lemur 2, Guardian

Can the BRINC Drones Responder, Lemur 2, Guardian be imported and sold in the United States?

The answer

Lawful to import and sell

US built and NDAA compliant by vendor disclosure rather than a Blue UAS listing, which is a weaker basis.

We searched and found no US authorization record. Absence of a record is itself the finding, and it is why the platform reads the way it does below.

From the board

US built with in-house battery assembly and a new Seattle factory as of March 2026, and NDAA compliant by vendor disclosure. We could not confirm a Blue UAS Cleared listing, so any agency sale that specifically requires Blue clearance needs written confirmation from BRINC first.

Who can buy it, and with what money

Two different gates. Whether a platform may be sold at all is set by FCC authorization and binds everyone. Whether a particular buyer may spend a particular kind of money on it is set by procurement law and binds public money only. The same machine can pass one and fail the other.

The drone rule, which came first

Drones sit under a different and earlier action. On 22 December 2025 the FCC added all foreign-produced uncrewed aircraft systems and their critical components to the Covered List, with no weight gate. Aircraft authorized before that date keep that authorization, and the FCC has said the update does not prohibit the import, sale or use of models it previously authorized, so newly built units of those models may still be imported and sold. What cannot happen is a new authorization for a foreign-produced model. A US-produced aircraft sits outside that entry entirely, so no expiry runs against it. Foreign-produced aircraft rely instead on the Blue UAS exception, which runs to 1 January 2028. Blue UAS Cleared and Blue UAS Select are two different lists and we name which one an aircraft is on. Which aircraft a public buyer may put budget against is a separate question again, set by the American Security Drone Act for federal buyers and by state statute for a growing number of state and local ones, so confirm the rule that binds your own money before you commit it.
